ITHACA, NY—National Book Auctions, located in Ithaca, NY, announces the launch of their next auction catalog.

This catalog features rare, antique and decorative books as well as select additions of art, ephemera and collectibles. Highlighted is a fine selection of artwork and signed prints featuring artists such as Charles Shulz, Maurice Sendak and Rufino Tamayo. Additionally, this catalog includes an array of signed books and ephemera as well as decorative and limited antique multi-volume sets.

Antique and rare books in this catalog feature numerous titles. Among the earliest examples are the 1604 printing of Plutarch's "Les Vies des Hommes Illustres Grecs et Romains," printed in two volumes; Marc Antoine Muret's "Presbyteri I. C. et Civis Romani," printed in 1613; and the 1673 publishing of Alessandro Alessandri "Jurisperiti Neapolitani Genialum Dierum Libri Sex," bound in two vellum volumes. Other scarce titles include special editions such as signed, limited printings illustrated by Arthur Rackham, and "Hunting Trips of a Ranchman Sketches of Sport on the Northern Cattle Plains," by Theodore Roosevelt.  Rare modern titles include special printings such as the 1963 limited edition of "Buildings Plans and Designs by Frank Lloyd Wright" and first printings of Dr. Seuss titles.

Pleasing collections will be featured. Many lots feature titles relating to World War One and the American Civil War, including large sets such as "Confederate Veteran" and "Official Records of the Union and Confederate Navies in the War of the Rebellion." Another private collection being sold offers titles by and about, T. E. Lawrence, highlighted by first printings of important works. We will also offer rare Cuban items including Fidel Castro's signature and the scarce "Expedicion y Desembarco del 'Granma'," a commemorative photo album of the original revolutionaries.

Found throughout this catalog are offerings of artwork, ephemera and other collectibles. Of particular note is a Rufino Tamayo original watercolor.  Two attractive 17th century European maps will be sold, as will numerous ephemera lots featuring themes such as sheet music, postcards, magazines, chromolithographs, advertising, travel-related, decorative billheads, original antique correspondence, antique photographs, and other genres.  Other collectibles include prized vintage stereo equipment by Marantz, antique infant sleighs, early kitchen implements and wooden bowls, antique crockery, glassware, porcelain, and varied other collectibles.
