These are the three lots that stuck out this week because of either uniqueness or exceeding expectations:
Archive from Dr. Wakefield’s time working for the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen
Dr. Arthur W. Wakefield was a mountaineer, explorer, and record-breaking fell walker. The archive includes typed entries from his diary, describing his adventures, travels and work, a typed true story titled A Pilgrim’s Progress to Paradise with Komatik and Dog Team: An Experience on the Coast of Labrador, photographs of igloos, Innuits, and landscapes, and a Moravian Church magazine written in Inuktitut language, 1912. Sold at Hansons Auctioneers for £4,700.

Windowsill Daydreaming
Minor White, Windowsill Daydreaming, Rochester, New York (from the Founders & Friends: Aperture at 50 portfolio), platinum palladium print 1958 / printed 2002, artist's proof 2 of 16 apart from the edition of 100 published by Aperture. Sold by LAMA for $11,305 following an estimate of $500-$700.
