Beyond Midnight: Paul Revere

Friday, February 14th, 2020 - Sunday, June 7th, 2020

Antiquarian Society (AAS), Beyond Midnight: Paul Revere, features 200 objects that re-examine Revere’s life, transforming visitors’ understanding of the innovative businessman through an in-depth exploration of his accomplishments as a silversmith, printmaker, and pioneering copper manufacturer. The exhibition draws upon AAS’s unparalleled collection of books and rare prints, with additional loans from a number of institutions and private collections. In Concord, the exhibition also features the Concord Museum’s extensive collection of objects connected to the events of 1775, included the famed lantern ordered hung as a signal by Revere. A highlight of the exhibition in Concord is the 1922 oil painting, Paul Revere, by the famed American artist N. C. Wyeth, on loan from The Hill School.

The exhibition will be on display at the New-York Historical Society from September 6, 2019 – January 12, 2020. In Massachusetts, the exhibition will be divided between two venues and will be displayed simultaneously at the Concord Museum and the Worcester Art Museum from February 14, 2020 – June 7, 2020 and then will come together again and travel to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art from July 1, 2020- October 11, 2020.
