Senate House Library will be the official Charity Partner for Firsts London 2026.

Senate House Library will be curating a stand at Firsts that showcases its various collections charting social and political transformation. This year's theme of Firsts London which runs May 14-17 at the Saatchi Gallery will be 'Revolution' to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

“Senate House Library has a huge archive of materials relating to the theme of revolution in all its forms, from Civil War to the Suffragettes," said Catriona Cannon, Librarian and Programme Director for the Library Transformation Programme. “Our partnership with Firsts London reflects a shared commitment to exploring how books and manuscripts shape, record, and transmit ideas that change the world. By connecting Senate House Library’s academic community with the international rare book trade, we aim to broaden access to primary sources, deepen historical understanding, and highlight the enduring relevance of printed works as agents of intellectual and cultural revolution.”

Tom Lintern Mole, from the Antiquarian Bookseller Association (ABA) added: “The Library’s strength in influential and often inspirational books, many of which have changed the course of history, perfectly complements our world leading exhibitors’ own curated stocks."
