George Washington’s Secret Annotated Draft of the U.S. Constitution Goes on Display

All seven pages of George Washington’s annotated copy of a draft of the U.S. Constitution go on display for the first time today at the National Archives Museum in Washington, DC.

The secret printing of a draft of the Constitution was revised in Washington’s original handwriting as he presided over the Constitutional Convention in 1787, two years before being elected as the first President of the United States. 

The display runs through September 27 in celebration of Constitution Day. Visitors can view the draft during regular museum hours of 10am-5.30pm. Admission is free.
