Guided Tour of the U-M Clements Library. Join us for a guided tour to learn more about the Clements’ early American history collections. Highlights include viewing of Benjamin West’s iconic painting “Death of General Wolfe,” a Revolutionary War-era trunk that once housed General Gage’s papers, and viewing our current exhibit “Up, Up, and Away: A History of Ballooning in America”!

Starting in the Clements Library’s behind-the-scenes meeting space, we begin with a brief slide presentation and viewing of collections materials. We will conclude upstairs in the Avenir Foundation Reading Room to view the artwork, printing press, and realia on display. Tours are approximately 60 minutes in length. Please allow ample time for parking and plan to arrive to check in about 10 minutes before your tour time.
