Printed Matter’s NY Art Book Fair (NYABF) returns to the historic location of the very first Fair ! After three years apart, we are grateful to reunite in person and celebrate the history and future of artists’ book publishing together.
Taking place in Chelsea, just around the corner from Printed Matter’s bookstore, NYABF is the leading international event for the distribution of artists’ books, offering a platform to hundreds of artists and publishers from around the world, while providing visitors with new ways to discover artists’ books and explore the full breadth of the art publishing community.
This year’s Fair will feature many of the longstanding exhibitors and programs that have come to define this beloved event while debuting exciting new publishers and projects. Join us for our long-awaited return and explore four floors of exhibitors, plus free conversations and workshops, music and dance performances, exhibitions and artist-led programs, and our first-ever Block Party!

Sun, Oct 16th, 11am – 5pm, free admission
Some Fair days are ticketed, as noted above, while programs—including The Classroom, off-site exhibitions, and the NYABF Block Party—are free with registration. Advance ticket purchase and registration is highly encouraged due to limited capacity in the building and crowd flow. Limited tickets are available at the door each day. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Ticketed days help support this non-profit production.
Official kick-off event: Opening Night
Thu, Oct 13th 6pm - 9pm, tickets $30 and include a limited edition artwork by Nick Sethi, multiple re-entry throughout the Fair weekend, as well as entry to the NYABF Opening Night After-party. Opening Night will feature an activation of a new edition by artist Nick Sethi and performances by James K and Dawuna.
