Printed Matter Announces 2026 NY Art Book Fair Dates
“Exhibitors and participants from New York City to Reykjavik and Tokyo are convening to share their involvements and activities with contemporary art books” is how Printed Matter introduced the first NY Art Book Fair 20 years ago.
That 2006 gathering of 73 exhibitors has become the world’s leading fair for artists’ books, and has welcomed thousands of exhibitors from around the world over the last two decades. This year's fair will be held at MoMA PS1 from September 24 through September 27 and coincides with the 50th anniversaries of both Printed Matter and MoMA PS1.
Across four days, NYABF will convene a wide range of antiquarian booksellers, independent and institutional publishers, contemporary galleries, nonprofit art spaces, and zine publishers. The fair also hosts a schedule of programs including book launches, lectures, exhibitions, music performances, and workshops.
"As we look ahead to the next 50 years, Printed Matter draws inspiration from the hundreds of new international art book fairs and publishing initiatives that have emerged in the past 20 years," said a spokesperson. "This year’s Fair will deepen its support for publishers while honoring the history of the form and developing new programmatic collaborations, all of which broaden how audiences engage with artists’ books. We look forward to celebrating this anniversary with our community, visitors, artists, publishers, and artists’ book lovers alike."
Exhibitor applications are now open through March 30.
