Cast-signed edition of the Lonesome Dove saga

The full catalog of the auction of bookseller and writer Larry McMurtry's partial personal estate has been released by Vogt Auction Galleries, featuring around 300 items from his home in Archer City, Texas.

Among the lots featuring his firearms, boots, memorabilia from his Hollywood productions, artwork, and furnishings from his home are:

* Various of his typewriters, including eight of his favourite Hermes 3000 which still work and several others which he cannibalized for parts, plus his Hermes Rocket, a Hermes Baby, and two silent typewriters, a Smith-Corona and a Royal. Estimates ranging from $600 to $6,000.

* McMurtry's Arts and Crafts partners desk, manufactured by Roycroft Community around 1910-1915, used by him for works including his Academy Award-winning screenplay for Brokeback Mountain. Estimate: $10,000 – $20,000

* A cast-signed set of the four books in the Lonesome Dove saga including Robert Duvall, Anjelica Huston, Chris Cooper, and Margo Martindale, as well as McMurtry. Estimate: $4,000 – $8,000
