Billy Haines Vintage Gelatin Silver Prints to Auction

Bonhams' upcoming sale of items from the Brentwood residence of William 'Billy' Haines includes a group of vintage gelatin silver print portraits of Haines at home alongside some of Hollywood's biggest stars.
The 'Lorna Lane’: The Legacy of Billy Haines auction on July 22 focuses on the final residence of American actor and interior designer William ‘Billy’ Haines (1900–1973) with lots coming to the market after more than 50 years in private hands.
Highlights inclulde:
- a gelatin silver print depicting Haines with Joan Crawford and Douglas Fairbanks Jr, estimated at $800-$1,200, an image later chosen for the cover of Class Act: William Haines, Legendary Hollywood Decorator, the definitive monograph on Haines' life and career
- a group of three gelatin silver prints of Haine’s Lorna Lane residence, estimated at $800-$1,200
- a group of four gelatin silver prints of William Haines and his Great Dane, estimated at $1,000-$1,500
