If you can crack the seven silver locks on this incredibly beautiful red morocco binding, a seventeenth-century manuscript on heraldry will be revealed.
Titled 'The Baronage of England since the Norman Conquest...', the manuscript on parchment was made in England in 1627. It contains 20 large painted royal arms and 810 small painted arms, all in gold and colors, with captions in a neat English hand.
Bookseller Justin Croft will be showcasing this book at the New York Antiquarian Book Fair, which opens tomorrow evening. The price is $15,000.
