Einstein, Hancock, and Jefferson Headline University Archives’ August 28 Auction

Westport, CT — A letter typed in English and signed by Albert Einstein in which he talks about his theory of universal gravitation, a document signed in 1776 by John Hancock having to do with taxation without representation, and a letter written and signed by Thomas Jefferson six weeks before his death are expected top lots in University Archives’ online auction, August 28th.  

University Archives’ June 26 Auction Will Feature Einstein, Capone & More

Westport, CT – A letter written and signed by the legendary Kung Fu master Bruce Lee, a bank interest note twice signed by the notorious gangster Al Capone, and a letter typed and signed by Albert Einstein regarding the development and use of the hydrogen bomb are a few of the featured lots in University Archives’ Internet-only auction slated for Wednesday, June 26th.

Boston, MA — Boasting nearly 1,000 lots in a variety of genres, RR Auction's June Fine Autographs and Artifacts sale is highlighted by a Science and Technology section with online bidding until June 12.

Highlights include a Charles Darwin letter requesting a sketch of a barnacle fossil.  The four-page handwritten letter signed "C. Darwin," from August 8, 1850. Letter to Nathaniel Thomas Wetherell, underscoring Darwin's belief in the scientific significance of the study of Cirripedia (barnacles).

Signed in 1931 and measuring a larger-than-life 16 x 20 inches, this is the largest signed photograph of the theoretical physicist ever to be offered for sale.
