Kirk Hammett, lead guitarist of the band Metallica, has become well known in collector circles in recent years. In 2017, The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) in Salem, Massachusetts, put a selection of his classic horror and sci-fi posters on exhibit.
Falls Church, VA – Waverly Rare Books, a division of Quinn’s Auction Galleries, will host a Thursday, July 18 sale featuring outstanding modern and contemporary prints and posters from the 19th century to the present day. Artists represented include Pablo Picasso, Frances Gearhart, Walter Henry Williams, Mary Bauermeister, Leroy Neiman, Werner Drewes and Kathleen Spagnolo, among many others. New York — Poster Auctions International’s second sale of the year finished at $1,300,000 in sales. Auction LXXVIII on June 23 elicited enthusiasm for uncommon and little-known works by masters of Art Deco and Art Nouveau.

After the hammer fell for the last time, 65 lots realized between $500-999; 21 lots made between $1,000-1,999; and 11 lots broke the $2,000 barrier. West Palm Beach, FL – The Norton Museum of Art is thrilled to present the largest ever museum exhibition of classic movie posters from one of the most prominent private collections in the world. Titled Coming Soon: Film Posters from the Dwight M. Cleveland Collection, the exhibition includes more than 200 posters representing comedies, musicals, Westerns, sci-fi thrillers, dramas, and others that date from the turn of the 20th century to the late 1980s.
