NEW YORK CITY—The International Vintage Poster Fair is returning to New York City for its 26th anniversary with an exciting new location, Pier 94, between 12th Ave. and 55th St. This year’s Poster Fair will be a featured section of the Pier Antique Show, New York City’s largest and most anticipated antiques show event.

Before social media there were posters, and the purpose of an original vintage poster was to advertise and promote new products and ideas, wars and political viewpoints, sporting and other events, along with travel and transportation. It was a unique art form with the power to influence consumers of all ages. Today, the few original posters that have survived have a new purpose.

Now, original vintage posters provide a unique and affordable way to bring fine art into one’s life. The public will have an opportunity to explore this unique and distinct art form when the International Vintage Poster Fair touches down at Pier 94 in New York City, the weekend of Saturday, November 14th and 15th, 2015.

The International Vintage Poster Fair offers collections from over a dozen dealers hailing from across the United States, Belgium, the United Kingdom and France. Fairgoers have the opportunity to purchase the perfect piece of artwork for their home, office or private collection when they visit the Fair. Every poster available at the Fair has been vetted for authenticity by the International Vintage Poster Dealers Association (IVPDA).

Thousands of original vintage posters are for sale and include exceptional examples highlighting the mood and graphics from many different eras.

“What makes the Poster Fair so unique is its accessibility,” said Fair co-producer Gail Chisholm of Chisholm Gallery in New York City. “The posters highlight a variety of subjects, dates and styles, all of which satisfy any collector’s interest or enthusiasm.”

"With posters priced from $100 to many thousands of dollars, they are equally accessible to all,” said co-producer, David Pollack of David Pollack Vintage Posters, Wilmington, Delaware. “There is something for everyone; a style, a theme and a price to fit every interest and pocketbook. We’re very excited about this year’s show and our new location.”

This year’s International Vintage Poster Fair will feature posters of every genre including travel and transportation, food and product advertising, war and propaganda, and more. Artists represented include many great masters of the late-nineteenth and twentieth centuries such as A.M. Cassandre, Edward Penfield, David Klein, Leonetto Cappiello, Erik Nitsche and many others.

The International Vintage Poster Fairs are held in Chicago, New York and San Francisco. The Poster Fairs are produced by international poster dealers: Gail Chisholm of Chisholm Gallery in New York and David Pollack of David Pollack Vintage Posters in Wilmington, Delaware.

Fair hours and dates in New York are: Saturday, November 14th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 15th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $10 each day.
