The 2014 Harnett Biennial of American Prints, Call for Entries

The 2014 Harnett Biennial of American Prints is the eleventh competitive national exhibition organized by the University of Richmond Museums.  Open to all forms of prints, the exhibition is presented as a celebration and examination of contemporary printmaking by artists throughout the United States.  The Harnett Biennial will be on view from October 28 to December 12, 2014, in the Joel and Lila Harnett Museum of Art, University Museums.

The juror of this biennial is artist Mary Fisher, Founder of Mary Fisher Clinical AIDS Research and Education (CARE) Fund at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Fisher is an American designer who has survived AIDS and cancer to become a globally recognized artist, author, advocate, and social entrepreneur. She made history in 1992 when she addressed the Republican National Convention with a speech about advocacy in the fight against HIV and AIDS. The deadline for submission is August 1, 2014.  The exhibition is open to all artists residing in the United States.  Entries must be in the category of printmaking using any traditional and/or experimental techniques and media.  Eligible entries include prints on paper using, but not limited to, such media as intaglio, relief, planographic, stencil, monotype, and digital processes (no giclée reproductions are allowed).  Photographs on paper are eligible.  Prints must have been completed in the last two years.
