The 23rd Chelsea Antiquarian Book Fair

The 23rd Chelsea Antiquarian Book Fair will take place over two days on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the stunning surroundings of the Chelsea Old Town Hall, King's Road (opposite Sydney Street), London SW3 5EE.

The intimate, yet high-quality Fair is directed and managed by the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association (ABA), the UK's oldest association of antiquarian booksellers and part of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB). It attracts around 80 exhibitors, both local and from around the UK and abroad, who specialise in all types of books, manuscripts and ephemera. Tickets are complimentary if pre-booked in advance online, or £10 (£15 for two) if bought at the Fair.

As Chair of the ABA Chelsea Committee, Graham York commented: “The annual Chelsea Book Fair is now firmly on the King's Road shopping calendar. We cater for buyers of all ages and tastes, whether they are looking to fill a gap in a collection or get inspired to start a small collection of their own. The opening hours fit in well with most people's shopping and working patterns, and we maintain a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Books, manuscripts and ephemera will be for sale; at prices ranging from a few pounds to many thousands, and some of the leading experts in their field are available to discuss their stock, without the pressure of a shop environment, and often over a cup of tea. In today's impersonal digital age, surely nothing beats the experience of seeing and handling (and buying) beautiful books, with a 100% guarantee of authenticity.”

The book fair will be open from 2pm to 7pm on the Friday and 11am to 5pm on the Saturday. There will be guided tours exploring different topics in more detail, offering an introduction to book collecting or just helping you to find the perfect Christmas present.
