London’s Book Fair Week in June

LONDON — Seven fairs displaying Rare Books, Maps, Photographs and Ephemera have come together to set up the first London Book Fair Week from Saturday, 8th to Sunday, 16th June 2013. This is the first time all the fairs organisers have joined together to create a major event for both trade and public by holding all the major summer fairs in one week.

This will make it the biggest celebration of Print-on-Paper in the World — with seven different fairs in nine days. The fairs will be offering antiquarian and rare books, maps, manuscripts, prints, posters, ephemera and photographs.

A specially designed Book Fair Week ticket will be available, which means that visitors just need this single ticket to find out about the fairs — and the joint ticket will give entry to most of them FREE of charge.

The London International Antiquarian Book Fair at Olympia, organised by the ABA (Antiquarian Booksellers' Association) is the flagship event of the week, taking place from the 13th-15th June, with the PBFA London International Summer Antiquarian Book Fair down the road at Earl's Court on Friday and Saturday 14th -15th. There will be a FREE shuttle bus service between the Olympia and the PBFA fairs.

London Book Fair Week kicks off with the London Map Fair at the Royal Geographical Society on the 8th and 9th June — a must for all those with a keen interest in maps, collectors and novices alike. Bloomsbury is worth a trip on Sundays, with both the Ephemera Society London Fair and the Bloomsbury Summer Book Fair taking place within walking distance on the first Sunday, 9th June, and rounding off the week on 16th June are the Bloomsbury Summer Ephemera Fair and the London Photograph Fair, showing highlights from the early days of photography to modern day masters.

Make the most of this great opportunity to be able to visit all the fairs - a great way to discover some real treasures or a new passion. Tickets for Book Fair Week are available from all the fair organisers.
