Inaugural Memorabilia from Seth Kaller and University Archives

January 2013 — The inauguration of Presidents has always sparked great interest in the memorabilia that goes along with the festivities. From President George Washington to FDR, a wealth of artifacts, original documents and media coverage of the day is available from a collection called HISTORY YOU CAN OWN, presented by a group of experts on museum quality items from U.S. history.  Among the group is Seth Kaller, whose group offers two galleries, one in Westport and one in Greenwich Connecticut, showcasing the items that are also available for sale. They are also available through SETH KALLER INC, White Plains, NY.

Sparking interest in inaugural items past and present is the upcoming second inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States, which will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2013.  Mandated by the Constitution, all presidents begin their new term on January 20 at noon (EST). Because January 20 will fall on a Sunday, two ceremonies - one private and one public - will take place. The first ceremony will take place on Sunday and the second on Monday January 21, with Chief Justice John Roberts administering the oath on both days. This will be the 57th Inauguration ceremony.
Some interesting facts from the 2009 inauguration:

  • Largest attendance of any event in the history of Washington, DC
  • Largest attendance of any Presidential inauguration in U.S. history
  • First citizen born in Hawaii to hold U.S. office
  • Highest viewership ever of the swearing-in ceremonies on the Internet
  • First woman, Dianne Feinstein, to emcee the ceremony

Among the inaugural items available from HISTORY YOU CAN OWN are Thomas Jefferson’s First Inaugural Address, Abraham Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address and Jon F Kennedy’s Inaugural Address.

Prices range from $200 to $32,000.  Seth Kaller is available in-studio or at SETH KALLER INC. to discuss and show you inaugural items below and more. Also view more items at www.sethkaller.com.
