Video Fridays: Adam Roffman’s The Collection

Vintage movie advertisements reproduced from a collection of letterpress printing blocks now housed at NYC’s Press Room.   

In our spring article about Manhattan’s new Press Room bar and letterpress museum, Tim League referenced Adam Roffman’s short film, The Collection, which premiered at the 2017 SXSW Film Festival, as the inspiration for his acquisition of a collection of letterpress blocks and prints used to make newspaper advertisements for early and mid-century films, or what Oprah described as “the motherlode of movie memorabilia.”
 
That collection is now housed at the Press Room, part of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema on Liberty Street.
